Why the categories matter
Matka vocabulary groups numbers by shape. Knowing the categories makes both results and rate tables far easier to read. Here are the ones you will meet most often.
Single (Ank)
A single is one digit, 0 through 9. It is the simplest unit and is derived from a pana by summing the pana's three digits and keeping the last digit of that sum.
Jodi
A jodi is a two-digit pair, 00 through 99, formed from the open single and the close single. Because it combines both halves of the day, the jodi is the number people quote most.
Panna (Pana)
A panna is a three-digit group. It comes in three flavours:
- Single panna — all three digits different (e.g. 123).
- Double panna — two digits the same (e.g. 112).
- Triple panna — all three the same (e.g. 111).
Sangam
A sangam ("confluence") combines a panna with a single or another panna — for example a half sangam pairs one panna with the opposite single, and a full sangam pairs the open panna with the close panna. These are the most specific combinations, which is why rate tables list them at the top.
Putting it together
If you can spot a single, a jodi and the three panna shapes at a glance, every result line and rate row will read naturally. See how the rates line up on the Mama567 home page under Gate Rates.
